AFL finals race heats up in last week.

The last round of the regular season starts Thursday morning. Four teams are fighting for the last two finals berths. St. Kilda plays Greater Western Sydney for one of them. Port Adelaide and Brisbane are guaranteed two finals games at home and a bye should they win the first final. Richmond, Geelong and West Coast are fighting for two guaranteed finals games with the odd team out guaranteed a home final.

Home is a relative term, since Victoria is under lockdown. Since finalists Richmond, Geelong, and Collingwood and contenders St. Kilda, Melbourne, and the Western Bulldogs are all Victorian based clubs, they can’t play at home.

Brisbane is unlikely to leave their home stadium this season, since the Grand Final will be played there. Port Adelaide is likely to play at home until the Grand Final. Where the other finals games will be played is anyone’s guess. By Monday night, things should be clearer.
