I just found out the Kansas state track meet is going to be a three day affair. Instead of having all classes over a two day meet, they are dividing up by class. 5A and 6A are scheduled for Thursday May 27, 3A and 4A (most of the local schools) May 28 , 1A and 2A May 29. Most seniors will have been out of school for two weeks before the state meet. Underclassmen will have been out for a week.
You have to tip your hat to people willing to come back just to train for a track meet. It’s not like they are going to college on a D1 scholarship. Oh wait……..
