In the 80s the then VFL decided to play their games over the whole weekend instead of playing all of the games on Saturday afternoon. Until the latest expansion to 18 teams they did not play any games on Good Friday but played their normal three games on Easter Sunday. Talk about missing the point of the Easter weekend.
