In spite of the rain we have received over the past three weeks, we are still in severe drought status according to droughtmonitor.unl.edu.
The corn is head high as it should be on the fourth of July. The recent wheat harvest is a mixed bag of nuts. Weight and protein content are high, but there’s not as much as hoped for. Normally all of the wheat is harvested by now, but much needed rain in recent weeks have delayed the harvest, but saved the crop.
