This week the Kansas high school sports authorities allowed an increase in the number of baseball and softball games per season from 20 to 26 starting this spring. This will put Kansas equal to Missouri but considerably behind Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Colorado.
This is a boon to large suburban schools which are losing players to club teams. Small rural schools won’t benefit as much because of a lack of depth and lack of opponents.
