Animal Shelter is a dump
Three former workers at the local animal shelter have accused the manager of ordering euthanized animals dumped in the river. There is a picture of dead dogs in a freezer circulating around local media. It remains to be seen if the charges are credible, but it is disturbing.
Short and long drought
Long term we are still in severe drought. Recent rains have moistened the ground but have done nothing to relieve the long term drought. With Wally World offering $14 an hour, local industries can no longer pay 10 to 12 dollars an hour for hard fast paced work in sweatshop conditions.
