Really bad dreams
I took a nap before work last night. I had a dream I was late to work. I wake up and look at the clock and it says 6 o’ clock. I can see it is still light out and think it is 6am and I slept through my shift. I pinch myself to makeContinue reading “Really bad dreams”
WuFlu Sports
Most of our junior college sports are being played during the spring season. Coffeyville hosts arch rival Independence on Sunday at 1:30 pm. I don’t know what is weirder, juco football in spring or on Sunday. Juco football should be played on Saturdays during the fall. And if you have lights, you should play atContinue reading “WuFlu Sports”
High school track
I just found out the Kansas state track meet is going to be a three day affair. Instead of having all classes over a two day meet, they are dividing up by class. 5A and 6A are scheduled for Thursday May 27, 3A and 4A (most of the local schools) May 28 , 1A andContinue reading “High school track”

I never grew okra, since it never grew well on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Here everybody grows okra, so I never bothered until this year. While notContinue reading “Eye of the storm.”
Old habits are hard to break.
When I went to work last night, I wondered who would still be wearing masks. Turns out, nearly everybody was masked. I know there are not that many vaccine hesitant people on my shift. I don’t know if they are waiting for the two weeks to expire, or they just forgot.
Mask free
Starting today, we do not have to wear masks at Walmart if we have all our WuFlu shots and two weeks have passed. Woo hoo.
Deja vu all over again
I was wondering why it seemed like a broken record. It turns out that last year at this time it also rained for nine straight days in mid-May. But this time, the risk of flooding is considerably lower.
Rain rain go away….
The forecast here calls for rain every day for the next ten days. Just thought I would get my whining out of the way.
