Countdown to Tulsa Tough

No, I am not racing but I am driving the supply truck/garbage scow to two of the rest stops on the road courses Saturday.  I drop off supplies for Kellyville and Slick which are the furthest stops from Tulsa. When the last rider passes through I pick up the garbage and reusable items and take them back to Tulsa.  I do the same thing Sunday going to Skiatook.

This morning, I have to some last day errands before going to Tulsa tomorrow.  The weather is going to cooperate being cool and sunny today as opposed to being wet all week.

Employee of the month

I started my workweek last night and found out I was associate of the month at Wally World. This might be because I am one of the few overnight stockers who hasn’t quit or given notice of quitting. I have spent most of my work career NOT working 8-5 Monday through Friday, but I realize working overnights is not for everyone.

I got a nice looking plaque, a pen, and a pin. Maybe I should put the plaque on my fireplace mantel next to my inmate of the month award.

Snoozepapers

Last weekend was the Kansas State Track Meet. You would think the local daily would have had Friday’s results in the Saturday edition. Considering that they charge double for the Saturday edition, the paper has daily in its name and the sports editor is named Dailey, this shouldn’t be too much to ask.

They just got the results of the regional meet last week, two days after the local weekly. The neighboring daily paper, which publishes on the same schedule as ours, managed to get up to date results.

So what was in the sports section Saturday? Articles about the Chiefs copied from the Kansas City Star. I can get the Star on Sunday and get those articles a week earlier. Not having a newspaper would be better than having one this bad.

Mask Free at Last

I am still getting used to not wearing a mask at work.  As socially distant as we were at work, it was about as useful as a bag of football bats at stopping WuFlu. The tables in the breakroom are set up for seating four people to a table instead of two. Even the local library has lifted their mask mandate, two months after every other government building had done so.
