The week began with temperatures in the 90s. By Saturday morning it will drop below 40 degrees. The storm coming through tonight will bring a long term temperature drop, and not a day too soon.

Test Delay
Drove to work last night instead of taking the bike. Rode to Coffeyville this morning to get the rent check instead. The bad thing about having a vehicle that could use some work is scheduling an appointment. A few years ago I could get my car worked on this week. Now I am lucky toContinue reading “Test Delay”
Test run
I misplaced the tablet that I post on, so I haven’t posted lately. But I did manage to get one of my bikes up and did a few test runs this weekend. Now I try to commute to work tonight. Temperatures are ideal, but daylight is now an issue both ways.
Getting back on the bike
I had not ridden the bikes all year, but I finally got them off of the porch and prepared them for riding. Coffeyville’s football stadium is about five miles from my house. Unless the high school goes deep in the playoffs, this is the last time both the high school and the college are atContinue reading “Getting back on the bike”
Avoiding work
When I am not working at Wally World, I try to avoid the place. Unfortunately, when you have insurance from Walmart, Walmart is your drug dealer. My prescriptions are ready, so I will run a bunch of other errands that I otherwise would have delayed until next week when I get back from vacation. EvenContinue reading “Avoiding work”
Tag renewal
I had to go to the tag office to get my tags renewed this week. I figured I could get off work, have breakfast and get to the tag office as it opened at 8am. When I got there at just after 8, there was a sign saying that due to a shortage of employees,Continue reading “Tag renewal”
KSHSAA reclassification
The Kansas Board of Education released enrollment figures for September 20, which determines state funding of schools. The same numbers are used for grouping schools of similar size for activities by the Kansas State High Schools Activity Association. The only direct change locally is Neodesha moving up to Class 3A for football starting next year.Continue reading “KSHSAA reclassification”
If you can’t be busy…
…look busy. One of our suspects on overnights can’t seem to figure this out. Instead of doing his job, he tends to go on walkabout throughout the store. This might not be so bad if he at least walked around with a piece of paper as if he was reading it. Instead he is lookingContinue reading “If you can’t be busy…”
Rain too little too late
Along with cooling temperatures comes the rain. We got over half an inch this week and will get another tonight. Unfortunately most of the corn crops have burnt up and the soybeans aren’t doing much better?
End of summer at last
