Today is Leap Day and payday. In my 45 year working career they have never occurred on the same day and never will again.

Super Bore
Slept through another Super Bowl today. Working overnights will do that to you. Now with no TV and no city papers in the area, I may not ever find out who won. And the local team is in the game.
Forgotten already
Just 22 years after the Saudi scum slammed stolen airplanes in skys rapers, too many people have forgotten the significance of this date.
Not Prime
Amazon Prime Days are over and I didn’t buy a thing again. This is partially because I am on a Walmart wage that doesn’t leave a lot of discretionary income, partially because I have too much junk as it is, and partially because they don’t have anything I would want. The worst of heat
As I near the anniversary of my move to Kansas, I often think about the years I spent in Arizona. Bobby Bonilla Bonus Day
A friend showed me an article in USA Today about Bobby Bonilla’s long term deferred payments. Not only are the Mets paying him until 2035, but the Baltimore Orioles are paying him 500k every July 1 until 2028.

Perhaps we should call it Dennis Gilbert Day in honorContinue reading “Happy Bobby Bonilla Day”
We’re still here Groota
Five years ago today Groota Thunderpants, AKA Greta Thunberg, said we would all be dead in five years if we didn’t do what she told us to do. We didn’t and we are still alive.
Birthday cakes arrived
I turn 60 next week. I usually don’t do much to celebrate, but because I am unlikely to make it to 70 I ordered a couple of birthday cakes from Smith Island Baking Company. The cakes are small ten layer cakes and very sweet. I will take them to work tonight and see how muchContinue reading “Birthday cakes arrived”
Queen’s….Er King’s Birthday
With the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the third Saturday in June will now be known as King’s Birthday even though neither monarch was born anywhere near that day. Thank goodness the right side won that dispute in the 18th century or we would be celebrating that stupid trash here too
