Australia’s response to WuFlu has been heavy on lockdowns, featuring a near ban on interstate travel. The Cats travel to South Australia to play Port Adelaide under the condition they fly in, play the game and fly out immediately afterwards. Colingwood did the same last week when they played Adelaide. Richmond and West Coast willContinue reading “Lockdown Follies”

AFL adjusting to lockdown.
With Victoria on indefinite lockdown, the AFL has had to make some adjustments to the schedule. Fortunately, the league is going through bye season. For the next three weeks only six games have to be scheduled instead of nine. The only game that had to be moved was the Dreamtime match, which simply had toContinue reading “AFL adjusting to lockdown.”
AFL round 11
The Greater Western Sydney Giants got to the airport to fly to Brisbane to play the Lions. Because the Giants had been in Melbourne 13 days earlier to play Richmond and the new 14 day quarantine for all people leaving Victoria, the Giants have to fly on game day. At least they are going northContinue reading “AFL round 11”
AFL hit by WuFlu
Victoria has had another outbreak of WuFlu, and as a result all of this round’s games will be played without fans. Some of the games will be played later in the week. This mostly affects interstate clubs coming into Victoria and Victorian clubs traveling interstate.
Haven’t talked about the footy.
Considering the name of this blog, I am ashamed that there has not been more about footy on it. What is even more embarassing is I have not been following footy this year. Footy is back
The Tulsa Buffaloes play their first game in nearly two years on June 26, when they host the North Texas Devils. Time and place to be determined later.
Cats beat Swans, clinch double chance
Cats let an inferior Sydney squad hang around far too long in a 69-63 win this morning. With one game left the Cats are locked into fourth place. The eight finalists are locked in, but the matchups will be determined by the results of tomorrow morning’s game between Port Adelaide and Collingwood. If Port winsContinue reading “Cats beat Swans, clinch double chance”
AFL finals race heats up in last week.
The last round of the regular season starts Thursday morning. Four teams are fighting for the last two finals berths. St. Kilda plays Greater Western Sydney for one of them. Port Adelaide and Brisbane are guaranteed two finals games at home and a bye should they win the first final. Richmond, Geelong and West CoastContinue reading “AFL finals race heats up in last week.”
Cats clawed by Tigers
Geelong was on the wrong end of a 57-31 whipping by Richmond this morning. It would have been worse if the Tigers could have kicked straight. Now if the Cats want a chance at a top four spot, they have to hope West Coast loses one of its last two or Port Adelaide or BrisbaneContinue reading “Cats clawed by Tigers”
Unexpected day off
At Walmart associates have a WuFlu questionaire to fill out online before work. I was about to fill out mine, when I realised I had today off. Got a little shopping done. I have to go to work early tomorrow to do some long overdue grocery shopping. If I had tomorrow off like I thought,Continue reading “Unexpected day off”
