With frost risk today and tomorrow, outdoor planting will have to wait a couple of days. Indoor starts will continue as normal with okra next on the agenda.

I called in sick last night.
I had chills all day yesterday and most of today in spite of high temperatures in the 60s. Even with two heavy blankets I was shivering last night. This morning I felt a little better, so I went to a beginning beekeeping class put on by the local beekeeping association. It was an all dayContinue reading “I called in sick last night.”
Germination confirmed
I checked my indoor starts today and found the first pepper plants have broken through and sprouted. My outdoor raised beds have done the same.
Germination may be occurring
I can just see the leaves popping up through the soil, but they have not spread out enough to properly identify them. Not bad for a week in the not best conditions.

I already have almost as much as I can start in my south facing living room windows, soContinue reading “Planting Time”
Starting the garden
I started some pepper and tomato seeds indoors yesterday. Now I need to start some frost tolerant greens in my raised beds. With covers they should be okay for the next couple of weeks.
Garden seeds are in
I got the last of the early garden seeds in today. Baker Creek delivered a nice bag of goodies. Tomorrow I get to start the greens outside and the others inside. I need to take advantage of the warm weather for the next two weeks and prepare the soil.
