This should not be newsworthy, but Geelong’s inability to win after a week off is the stuff legends are made of. Geelong has won 75% of its games since the AFL introduced the bye week in 2012. This is their third win after a bye, their second after a midseason bye. Not only did theContinue reading “Cats win after bye”

I need a vacation
Since I got laid off in January 2020, I have either lacked the money or time to take a vacation. After Tuesday morning, I will have five days to enjoy myself. I can’t afford to go back home, but I can spend a couple of days in Tulsa during Tulsa Tough. Now if I canContinue reading “I need a vacation”
Tulsa Tough
I got a call from Bill at Tulsa Tough giving me my route for next weekend’s Tulsa Tough deliveries. The Gran Fondo will be on the same course as 2019, which was supposed to be temporary due to flooding issues that year. I have been delivering supplies for the rest stops since 2016. Last yearContinue reading “Tulsa Tough”
Tulsa Tough Weather
The weather has finally started warming up in the area less than 10 days before the Grand Fondo events. Riders can choose a 35 mile ride, a 62 mile ride, or a 100 mile ride. These riders are mostly local riders who are not going to have time to acclimate to the increased heat. TheContinue reading “Tulsa Tough Weather”
Tulsa Tough
In less than two weeks, Tulsa will host a three day bicycle race known as Tulsa Tough. Saturday and Sunday feature road course events west and north of Tulsa, while downtown hosts closed course races for pros and elite amateurs on Friday and Saturday nights. What Tulsa Tough is known for is the River ParksContinue reading “Tulsa Tough”
Haven’t talked about the footy.
Considering the name of this blog, I am ashamed that there has not been more about footy on it. What is even more embarassing is I have not been following footy this year. This post will be a start in correcting that deficiency. Coming up on the mid-point of the season, Geelong is third, twoContinue reading “Haven’t talked about the footy.”
Footy is back
The Tulsa Buffaloes play their first game in nearly two years on June 26, when they host the North Texas Devils. Time and place to be determined later.
Still not a soccer fan….
…but I have to admit watching Tulsa FC lose to Sporting KC 2 was a decent game and would have been the worth the eight bucks to go watch. Instead, I helped put up signage on the field and got in for free. This was a USL game, which is the second tier of proContinue reading “Still not a soccer fan….”
Supporting local footy.
I hate soccer with almost as much passion as I love aussie rules. Tonight, I will go to Tulsa not to watch the Okies, who are unable to play due to the WuFlu, but to help them raise money to cover the fixed expenses that occur whether they play or not. Tulsa FC, a minorContinue reading “Supporting local footy.”
