Some area schools started this week, the rest start Monday. Gatorade and juice sales are down this week at Wally World and it is not because the temperature has finally below 100 degrees either. I am ordering a quarter beef in November, so I bought a 7 cubic foot freezer to go along with theContinue reading “Back to School”

Wally World Hurting
Wally World released its forecast today and it is bad. Bad on toast. Grocery is doing ok, but general merchandise is not selling. Apparel has been up to 40% off and is still not selling. People are tapped out and not buying anything they don’t have to. The only reason Gatorade and water are stillContinue reading “Wally World Hurting”
Accident Free
Our Wally World store somehow got through June without an accident. We came into work last night to a freezer full of ice cream sandwiches. Not as good as a bonus, but better than a fistfight at the Waffle House.
Good Night
Went into work last night and found out a) I didn’t have to come back and do the active shooter training and b) the videos got done. Overnights will do the active shooter training at a time to be named later. No comment on the other. Now if I can just shake this bug, IContinue reading “Good Night”
Active shooter training.
I am feeling better, but I would have to go to work tonight anyway. Waiting for me are 37 videos I have to watch by Monday morning. This wouldn’t be so bad if the videos left the queue after you watched them. I have watched 55 videos, some of them three and four times. ItContinue reading “Active shooter training.”
Heat exhaustion
It was warm when I got off work this morning. Went to bed and woke up with a headache. I got some fluids in me, but I decided to take a sick day and rest up for tomorrow.
Employee of the month
I started my workweek last night and found out I was associate of the month at Wally World. This might be because I am one of the few overnight stockers who hasn’t quit or given notice of quitting. I have spent most of my work career NOT working 8-5 Monday through Friday, but I realizeContinue reading “Employee of the month”
Mask Free at Last
I am still getting used to not wearing a mask at work. As socially distant as we were at work, it was about as useful as a bag of football bats at stopping WuFlu. The tables in the breakroom are set up for seating four people to a table instead of two. Even the localContinue reading “Mask Free at Last”
Supply Chain Woes
Living in rural Kansas, we have not had as many empty shelves as the large cities. All but the poorest have large pantries and have been drawing down their stocks when something they need is not available. People are thinking ” Do I really need that?” when they see the price increases. They are alsoContinue reading “Supply Chain Woes”
Jumping the Gun
Articles in gossip magazines are written 10 to 14 days before the publication date. Betty White died December 31. I bought this at work January 3. The National Examiner could have saved themselves a lot of embarrassment had they waited a week or two before publishing this and still beat her birthday of January 17.
