At Wally World we put up the holiday grocery display in the aisle this week. This is where most of the pumpkin spice stuff is going to be from now until Easter. They couldn’t even wait until Labor Day this year.

Gossip rags are back
After disappearing for two months, the Globe and National Enquirer are back on the shelves of the local supermarkets. Except for the hole they left in the racks by the checkout stands, I don’t think anybody noticed. Customers do notice when the snacks are not stocked there. People will go in those aisles to buyContinue reading “Gossip rags are back”
Polishing up the resume
With the new soybean processing plant opening up next year, people are polishing up their resumes. I will be among them. For $4.50 an hour I have to at least look into it. The company is holding a job fair in early August and they want resumes.. I never made a resume before 2020 andContinue reading “Polishing up the resume”
Wage increases
It has taken a while, but local wages are finally getting of rock bottom. With Wally World offering $14 an hour, local industries can no longer pay 10 to 12 dollars an hour for hard fast paced work in sweatshop conditions. Independence Day
Since hardly anyone has a public display of fireworks today, I decided to shoot off a few of my own. Since I work in retail, I rarely get a holiday off. I moved right after July Fourth in 2006 then missed 2007 because severe flooding eliminated fireworksContinue reading “Fireworks”
Calling off work
I got a flat tire at work this morning. I managed to put enough air to get home, then fell asleep. By the time I got up it got hotter than normal. Sure enough the tire was flat and I had to put the donut tire on. I think I might have a case ofContinue reading “Calling off work”
Wally World delivers eventually
The management announced this week that our Walmart is going to offer home delivery. They have a target date and will announce it as soon as they can hire drivers.
Almost the same as last night
Ok, the guy that called in showed up last night. But everyone else who decided to not work the whole night didn’t. If this wasn’t my Friday I’d call in.
Suspects dropping like flies
At work last night, two of our recent hires did not show up last night. One of them did not even bother to call in. To make things worse, two of our longer time coworkers went home at lunchtime. Needless to say with our no overtime edict from on high, the shelves were not completelyContinue reading “Suspects dropping like flies”
