The local John Deere plant is part of the nationwide strike. No mention of it in the local media. Maybe the local daily will put it in the paper sometime next week. The Urinal, which publishes two days a week, will probably never get the story in the paper. Every employee at the Urinal isContinue reading “Strike one”

Power outage
Got into work last night and found out power to our refrigeration units went down. Instead of stocking shelves, we spent most of the night emptying the refrigerator and putting away what we could in the lockers in the backroom. After lunch we put the stuff back in the fridges. Between the little stocking weContinue reading “Power outage”
Working on the weekend
Friday is here just in time for some long overdue house and yard work. Temperatures are close to ideal and the days only grow shorter from here.
9/11 plus 20
A lot of people are thinking about what happened and what they were doing 20 years ago today, so I thought I would add my two cents. I was at work at a bottled water company in Phoenix. As a QC tech my job was to test the water every hour. Any spare time IContinue reading “9/11 plus 20”
Going Postal?

Labor Day
For the first time ever I had to work on Labor Day. At least I have a weekend starting tomorrow morning.
Masks are back
We were told at work everyone at Wally World has to wear a mask. In addition, most non store employees and all salaried managers need to be vaccinated. This includes employees who work between several different facilities. The announcememt took store management by surprise and a lot of employees did not have masks yesterday. WeContinue reading “Masks are back”
Down, but not out
Still can’t find a reliable internet provider. I am just posting when I can. I just realized that 15 years ago today I left Phoenix to move to Kansas. So how am I celebrating? By lying down in bed for most of the last two days. I only manage to get to work because IContinue reading “Down, but not out”
I owe, I owe….
It’s off to work I go. After spending a three day weekend in Tulsa, I have to go back to work for two days before my normal weekend. This weekend will be spent as close to home as possible.
