Since I got laid off in January 2020, I have either lacked the money or time to take a vacation. After Tuesday morning, I will have five days to enjoy myself. I can’t afford to go back home, but I can spend a couple of days in Tulsa during Tulsa Tough. Now if I canContinue reading “I need a vacation”

Vacation
At Walmart, schedules are set three weeks in advance, dropping on Saturday. Since I have had the same schedule for the past three months, I don’t check right away. I checked my schedule last night and saw my vacation on it. Didn’t realise it was that close.
Really bad dreams
I took a nap before work last night. I had a dream I was late to work. I wake up and look at the clock and it says 6 o’ clock. I can see it is still light out and think it is 6am and I slept through my shift. I pinch myself to makeContinue reading “Really bad dreams”
Old habits are hard to break.
When I went to work last night, I wondered who would still be wearing masks. Turns out, nearly everybody was masked. I know there are not that many vaccine hesitant people on my shift. I don’t know if they are waiting for the two weeks to expire, or they just forgot.

Zzzzzz
Had to stay an hour late today, so get to come in an hour late tonight. Took advantage of the time to catch up on sleep.
Playing hooky
Couldn’t get any sleep, so I called off at work last night. I could use a three day weekend. Missed yesterday’s post so I will post twice today. Got to get the rent and do some shopping soon so this post is short.
Holidays
It is barely Labor Day, and not only are the Halloween displays up at Walmart, but the Christmas trees have arrived. Thanksgiving displays are missing so far.
Open Door Policies.
I was hired by Walmart in April as a temporary part time employee. In nine months, they have to make a decision on whether to convert me to full time, part time permanent, or let me go. That date is around New Year’s day. Since I am unlikely to make it that long, I haveContinue reading “Open Door Policies.”
