I ran some errands in town and ended up at the library. McDonald’s is in back of the library, but a Wendy’s has opened across the street from McDonald’s. Since we have not had a Wendy’s since 2012, I thought I’d check it out. It is smaller than a normal Wendy’s, set up for mostlyContinue reading “Crack free Wendy’s”

Feeling inadequate
Due to the warmer weather, I am digging up the last of the potatoes today. Meanwhile in France, the French farmers are digging up the highways leading to Paris. They are not planting potatoes or much of anything else. I hope French officials remember what happened the last time they pissed on and pissed offContinue reading “Feeling inadequate”
Black day after holiday
At Wally World we never got the big Black Friday crowds. But this morning we got the biggest opening crowd since we put the Halloween candy on sale half price. The Christmas stuff went out the door quickly. People are not going to pay the outrageous prices for non necessary food items. People I talkedContinue reading “Black day after holiday”
Avoiding work
When I am not working at Wally World, I try to avoid the place. Unfortunately, when you have insurance from Walmart, Walmart is your drug dealer. My prescriptions are ready, so I will run a bunch of other errands that I otherwise would have delayed until next week when I get back from vacation. EvenContinue reading “Avoiding work”

More shrinkflation
When I got off work, I got some food for the upcoming Labor Day weekend. I get things I don’t normally buy such as ice cream. I noticed the packages shrank since the Independence Day holiday week. In the ancient times of the early 21st century, ice cream came in 2 quart packages. A fewContinue reading “More shrinkflation”
Shrinkflation
By now people have companies making packages smaller to keep prices down. This has not been totally successful as prices are going up anyway. They may not notice these same companies switching to cheaper ingredients or diluting liquids. Retailers are pushing back and in some cases refusing to stock products. This is why some ofContinue reading “Shrinkflation”
Why are Yellow Freight’s trucks Orange?
Who cares? The company laid off hundreds of non-union employees Friday. It is extremely likely the company will file for bankruptcy Monday morning. Other company
Polishing up the resume
With the new soybean processing plant opening up next year, people are polishing up their resumes. I will be among them. For $4.50 an hour I have to at least look into it. The company is holding a job fair in early August and they want resumes.. I never made a resume before 2020 andContinue reading “Polishing up the resume”
