Today’s post should have been about footy. I wasn’t sure whether to post about the AFL or about the Tulsa Buffaloes win over North Texas. I get home and get my mail and in this edition of Mother Earth News there is an article on scrapple. Congratulations, it only took you 53 years.

Buffaloes open at home.
After a late start, the Tulsa Buffaloes will play their first game at home when they host the North Texas Devils. I haven’t been to a Buffs game since 2019 and am trying to figure out how to work around the work schedule.
Cats on top of the ladder
In spite of missing 60% of their shots on goal, Geelong managed a 91-63 victory over Melbourne. The margin of victory was important. Had Melbourne managed another two goals, they would have kept their loss close enough to keep their spot on top of the ladder. Fremantle and Brisbane could theoretically catch the Cats withContinue reading “Cats on top of the ladder”
Cats roll to second.
Geelong took care of business beating wooden spooners North Melbourne 144-32 earlier today. The Cats are now in second place going into Thursdays match with top of the ladder Melbourne at home. Geelong has now won six in a row mostly bottom feeding. Let’s see how they do in prime time against quality opposition.
Cats to Third
Geelong has quietly won five in a row to move up to third on the ladder. With a percentage boosting game against wooden spooners North Melbourne, they should go to second by the end of the round. This would also eliminate the Kangaroos from the finals, not that they had a chance to begin with.
Cats Win.
In spite of the name of this blog, I haven’t posted much about the footy lately. Geelong beat West Coast on the road yesterday to go to 9-4 and reach fourth on the ladder. Yes, the Eagles are currently holding the wooden spoon, but considering the Cats’ legendary inability to win after a bye week,Continue reading “Cats Win.”
Same Old Cats
After the first round of the AFLW season, the Cats lose again. Unlike their AFL counterparts the ladies can’t score. Two goals and 18 points from eight shots is unacceptable. Can’t win if you can’t score.
Footy is Back
After three months without Australian Rules Football. The AFL women’s season began today. It is like watching the WNBA when you really want to watch the NBA, but at least it’s football with no helmets, huddles, timeouts or fake injuries.
Finally Footy
I haven’t posted much about footy this year. Having to drop my AFL TV package and my Geelong club membership has something to do with that. I also did not go to any Tulsa Buffalo games this year for the first time since they were founded in 2007. I hope this loss of interest isContinue reading “Finally Footy”
Cats win after bye
This should not be newsworthy, but Geelong’s inability to win after a week off is the stuff legends are made of. Geelong has won 75% of its games since the AFL introduced the bye week in 2012. This is their third win after a bye, their second after a midseason bye. Not only did theContinue reading “Cats win after bye”
